On May 13, Luo Bixiong, Chief Scientist of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China), President of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Co., Ltd. (CPECC), and Dean of Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, held talks with visiting Spanish Ambassador to China Marta Betanzos Roig at the company headquarters. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on practical cooperation in accelerating the green development of energy and industry and in promoting digital-intelligent transformation. They reached broad consensus. Zhang Li, Deputy General Manager of CPECC, attended the meeting.
Marta Betanzos Roig expressed her gratitude to CPECC for its contributions to the economic and trade exchanges between Spain and China, as well as the green and low-carbon transformation since its establishment in Spain. She said that Spain’s cutting-edge technology in renewable energy is in line with CPECC’s comprehensive advantages across the industry chain of energy and power. The prospects for cooperation between the two sides are broad. Spain is developing emerging industries such as renewable energy, digital-intelligent transformation, and artificial intelligence and promoting reindustrialization and digital and green transformation. She hoped that by leveraging its technological advantages and development experience in new energy, power grids, and green hydrogen, CPECC could take the initiative in meeting Spain’s needs for transformation and participate in local economic development. She expected that the two sides could enhance communication and deepen economic and trade cooperation to jointly develop green and low-carbon energy for mutual benefit and win-win progress.
Luo Bixiong welcomed the delegation led by Marta Betanzos Roig. He outlined CPECC’s business development, technological innovation, international operations, and the localization efforts of its subsidiaries in Spain. He said that CPECC is committed to its role as a provider of lifecycle engineering services and an investor in new-type power systems. Operating on platforms such as Empresarios Agrupados, Ghesa, and Europe-China Science and Technology Innovation Center, CPECC has made significant progress in global energy cooperation and contributed to the global green development of energy. With the support of Ambassador Marta Betanzos Roig, he expected to further enhance communication and coordination with Spain’s government departments, enterprises, and institutions. Centering upon the new power system and innovative cooperation models, CPECC will provide package services in the reliability upgrading of electricity transmission and distribution grids; cross-border interconnection of power grids; construction of clean energy bases around the Mediterranean; integrated development of green hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and oil; green computing power; comprehensive energy storage; and joint technological innovation, thereby further elevating the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain to a new level.
Prior to the meeting, Marta Betanzos Roig and her delegation visited CPECC’s corporate culture exhibition hall.
