Fragrantplum trees beside the Liuxi River in full blossom
In December, the natural reserve of Liuxihe National Forest Park in Guangzhou wore a brilliant look as 100,000 plum trees in the reserve were in blossom. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the plum blossoms exude an air of refreshing elegance and simplicity.
First planted in the 1960s, the 3,000-mu plum forest is one of the earliest forests of its kind in the country. It is known as “the first plum blossom of China and the harbinger of spring in the South.”
